Our Story
This young girl started her haircare journey rough.
In the school locker rooms, she watched every other kid brush their hair with the trending Wet brushes — and wondered why her hair didn't look like everyone else's. Everyone around her had straight, long, fine hair. She was upset. She wondered if she took out her short, beaded braids, maybe it would grow as long as theirs. Maybe it would blow in the wind when a breeze whipped through.
Time and time again, after she took out her braids, she cried. She hated her hair. She didn't understand why it wasn't longer, or why it was so coily. Deep down, she never really wanted a different texture — she just wanted her hair to grow. She wanted to brush it, style it, wear it her own unique way.
But when it finally started to grow, it became harder to maintain. Eventually, her mother permed her hair, thinking it would be more manageable.
It wasn't.
Her hair began to thin. She lost her texture. The hair she once hated became the hair she wanted back most.
So she started over — on a journey to grow her natural hair, learn her texture, and wear it with confidence.
That girl is me.
